"Salman Khan’s Sikandar Tanks at the Box Office Despite High Expectations"

Mumbai – The highly anticipated Bollywood epic Sikandar, starring Salman Khan in the titular role, has surprisingly struggled at the box office, leaving fans and critics in shock. Directed by the renowned filmmaker Rajiv Desai, the film promised an action-packed historical drama but seems to have missed the mark.

Critics cited issues with the film’s over-the-top CGI battle scenes and a storyline that “felt more like a cricket match with swords.” Despite its massive ₹300 crore budget, viewers reported feeling disconnected from the plot, which features Salman Khan as an ancient warrior competing in a fictional gladiator-style championship to avenge his pet camel, Sundar.

The dialogues, including the now-infamous line, "Duniya ki taqat mere ek thappad mein hai," have become the subject of memes across social media platforms. While Salman’s signature shirtless action scenes briefly excited fans, the repetitive formula reportedly lost its charm halfway through the 3-hour runtime.

Despite a disappointing opening weekend gross of ₹35 crore, producer Sameer Gupta remains optimistic. “We’re focusing on digital releases. Sikandar could become a cult classic with some re-editing,” he said.

Meanwhile, fans are expressing mixed reactions on Twitter, with hashtags like #SaveSikandar trending alongside #SikandarDisaster.
